All members of Young Farmers have great opportunities to travel the world, with a wide choice of trips and exchanges. This page is all about those opportunities.

What trips are available?

The Discovery Programme for YFC Travel is where you can find out all about what travel opportunities there are for members of YFC - keep your eye on this page for next years' trips.

Staffordshire YFA ususally give financial help towards the cost of anyone taking part in the NFYFC International Programme Homestays, Development Exchanges and Working/Education Exchanges.

You can also travel and work overseas with YFC on the Agriventure programme in New Zealand, Australia, Canada and America in 2007.

Members from Staffordshire have travelled the world with YFC - you can find out more about the trips and their experiences below:


Autumn Seminar 2006 - Alex MacKellar went to the Welsh YFC / 4H / Rural Youth Europe Autumn Seminar in October 2006.

Don't be put off by the title - this was a chance to meet like-minded people from across Europe, with the themes for the week being “Breaking The Barriers” and “All Different, All Equal”.


Germany Homestay 2006 - Tom Hill went on a German Homestay trip in 2006.

Tom had two weeks staying with families in Germany, and reading his report you will see how much can be packed into two weeks!


Austria 2006 - Craig Barks went on an Austrian Homestay trip in Summer 2006.

Three weeks seeing Austria from Vienna to the Alps, and even a little part of the Czech Republic.


European Rally 2005 - Bryce MacKellar went to Scotland.

Bryce was part of the England Team, meeting up with other teams from all over Europe for this action-packed week.


Ontario 2005 - Alex MacKellar went to Ontario.

Alex represented Staffordshire and England on this trip to Canada.


Austria 2005 - Donna Tavernor went to Austria.

This trip was a great chance to meet and get to know others from all over Europe.


Ireland 2004 - Bryce MacKellar went to Ireland.

This trip is timed to include Irelands' YFC AGM, among a lot of other things.


Sweden 2004 - Amy Finney went to a Youth Camp in Sweden.

This trip is specially for under-18s.


European Rally 2003 - Ben Palmer went to Norway.

The European Rally brings together teams of five from 17 different countries, to learn all about each others cultures.


European Rally 2002 - Jackie Hampson went to Saltzburg, Austria.

The European Rally brings together teams of five from 17 different countries, to learn all about each others cultures.


USA 2002 - Sam Williams went to Maryland, USA.

Sam chose a 3-week homestay trip, which meant she stayed with families, getting a true taste of life in the USA.


Canada 2001 - Jackie Hampson went to the Canadian Rockies.

Jackie went on a cultural tour, which means she was with group of YFC members from the UK touring Canada.


Kenya 2001 - Joanna Willett visited many places in Kenya.

Joanna Willett went on a development exchange.
