Ridware YFC Sing to Save Lives....

Ridware presentation to Air Ambulance

Twenty five members of Ridware YFC in Staffordshire sang for their supper in aid of the County Air Ambulance. Many thanks go to Nigel & Mary Brown and Martin & Lucie Barker for hosting the carol singers and inviting their friends to listen to the harmonious Young Farmers. The singers’ efforts were very generously rewarded and Ridware YFC was able to present a cheque for over £200 to the County Air Ambulance. Ian Jones, a local paramedic with the Air Ambulance, gave a presentation to the Club to highlight the work carried out by the Air Ambulance Crew. This presentation was extremely informative and made us realise what a great job they do, often under very difficult circumstances. Ian also made mention of the fact that they rely heavily upon fundraising activities for the £2.4m that it costs to run the organisation. Ridware YFC would like to thank everyone who gave so generously to this charity.

Ridware YFC Boogie In The Barn

Ridware YFC staged a summer disco held by kind permission of Steve Swinnerton of the Reindeer Farm, Blithbury on 9th August 2008. It was a great success with over 200 people in attendance to Bulge Disco. The Reindeer Farm turned out to be a great venue with excellent facilities and our sincere thanks go to Steve for his generous support. We would also like to thank Margaret Bennett, Dave Heminsley and Sandra Hockenhull for their unstinting work in supplying and staffing the bar. Roger Mercer and Dave Stanley very generously donated the sausages and beefburgers for the barbeque for which we are very grateful and sincere thanks go to Liz Evans and her sister, Philipa for expertly cooking massive amounts of burgers and sausages to feed the hungry party goers. All in all a great night was enjoyed by all who attended and Ridware YFC would like to thank everyone who supported this fund raising event where over £2000 was raised.
